we don't know what's good for us 'cause if we did we might not do it who knows where our limits lie? we don't discover 'til we push it BLURB A deimori (his world's version of a demon) who is missing his memories, Zvei is both obsessed with his work and with death as a whole - he studies magicelite, magical stones made of souls and intends to put their powers to use both for his organization's purposes and for his own. He wants to piece together his missing past and figure out where he truly comes from and is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone for it. PERSONALITY bullet points for now because i'm trying to keep this short oh god ● One wouldn't know Zvei is one of the foremost researchers of magicelite in Aeli from his demeanor; he's aggressively flippant, cheerful, and eternally upbeat no matter what the circumstances are, to a near-comical degree. He tends to act like an airhead, but he's far smarter than he appears. ● While nothing can get him down, Zvei is so obsessed with his goal that he will forego eating and sleep when he's hard at work, and despite everyone telling him that he's trying to do the impossible, he keeps trying it. Zvei is completely relentless. ● He's also relentless in social situations, and does not let things go. This can be anything from a mild "please stop asking me questions about this, Zvei" to "Zvei is going to hold onto a grudge for the next hundred years, good luck". He also has a terrible tendency to be condescending, but that one's accidental. ● Oh yeah, and he has basically no empathy whatsoever. He doesn't understand his own feelings, let alone anyone else's! And that's when he even has feelings to begin with... ● Most of the time, Zvei cares about work and that's about it. The happiness he puts on isn't exactly genuine, though it's not like he's doing it to hide how much he's hurting or anything. He just doesn't feel much, and puts on the act because people tend to be more at ease around that. ● So he's a hot mess of a person who needs to take several seats, but hey, at least he's pretty chill about literally everything and anything! HISTORY bullet points for now because i'm trying to keep this short oh god ● The Necromancer's history seems to be lost to time. He doesn't know who he is, or where he came from, and couldn't find any answers to those questions when he went looking. So instead, he simply chose to focus on the things that interested him - such as death, and magicelite. ● His research into the strange stones led to some breakthroughs... because he sacrificed the people he was working with to test his theories out. They turned out to be true, but earned him the title "the Necromancer" for the death constantly surrounding him. ● But this worked out in his favor, as he gained the attention of one of the largest guild's leaders and was taken in. Serving under Ruby Dawn allows Zvei the freedom to follow his research as he pleases - though he is responsible for finding a way to break the barrier around the Aeli, the world tree. ● He managed to find a way to do this, utilizing some of the world's most powerful magicelite. By gathering all seven versions of these magicaeli, he helped Ruby Dawn break down the barrier so they could explore the Aeli. ● Except things started to go wrong, and Zvei's ended up separated from many of his companions. The Aeli is obviously very hostile toward these intruders, and it's important to find the others quickly... ● Zvei has gotten his hands on most of the remnants of the magicaeli used to break the barrier into the Aeli and intends to use them to merge with the Aeli itself to use its power to bring his memories back and piece together his strange dreams to learn the truth behind who - or what - he is. But his missing companions do worry him just a little bit... especially when they could get in the way of his goal. POWERS ● Basic fighting skills. Though he's loathe to actually fight, Zvei does know how to defend himself. He primarily relies on his own appendages (see below) but he can use some weapons if absolutely needed. ● Deimori powers. All deimori have some sort of ability or unique trait, and Zvei's are his tentacles. He can draw anywhere from one to twelve tentacles from his body, but typically prefers four large ones. These tentacles serve as extra arms/hands and can also be used to strangle or stab, if need be. Also as a deimori, Zvei ages slower than a human; though he can still be killed by most methods that would kill a human. ● Magic. This is where Zvei truly shines. If he's decent at defending himself, he's truly masterful at wielding magic. While he can cast spells that deal damage, those aren't his area of expertise and are again, only for defending himself. The spells he's best at are those that heal - he can bring a person back from the brink of death with little trouble, assuming he's around with enough time to spare for it. He cannot resurrect the dead despite his nickname, though he can use healing to hurt - essentially over-healing someone and causing their bodies to turn on themselves. This is his preferred method of killing, if he has to do the dirty work himself. INVENTORY STAFF. Zvei's staff. Not strictly necessary for casting spells, but it does help him focus. DAGGER. A simple dagger, useful for stabbing if absolutely necessary. NOTEBOOK. A notebook full of Zvei's notes, written in a cipher that looks suspiciously like math.
